I need a little advice in purchasing a new tractor. I have 176 acres of land, many logging roads, and about 20 acres of field. Building a 4 stall horse barn, looking to spread, brushhog, FEL, and backhoe. What thoughts to you have for long term investment 33 vs 40??? Manueverability on 40? Incline/stability on 33 vs 40??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

With your size property, I would not look at anything smaller than the TC40D. The TC33 would be great if you also owned a utility tractor, but the 33 would be overwhelmed on your land. I have a tractor similar to a TC40 for my 20 acres and would have nothing less.

I am afraid I would recommend getting a little more HP. The TC-45 might be a better choice. With brush cutting you will need as much HP as possible. ....

I believe I'd be looking at the next series up, the TN's. They compare favorably price wise to the TC series. I think even the 3010 would be a better choice than the TC33 for your use. Unless you are looking for something to finish mow and clean out the barn.

Congrats, I think you'll be fine with the 40. There are a few instances where it ISN'T cost effective to go the next larger. IMHO, TC45 is one of them. Others are the JD4410 over the 4310 and the Kubota L3430 over the L3130. Once you get it on the property, it won't seem as big as it did at the dealers.
